Let us tell our story

Shop Hartlepool is a proud new initiative brought to you in partnership with Love Hartlepool and Hartlepool Borough Council. With funding from the Government’s Reopening the High Street Safely Fund (RHSSF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Shop Hartlepool is helping shoppers and businesses return to normal and prosper after the pandemic and beyond.

Back in 2019 the Love Hartlepool campaign was launched to promote Hartlepool in a positive light, while supporting the prosperity and growth of the town and its villages. Love Hartlepool’s research revealed people want to purchase local goods and services but struggle to find what’s available. Add to that the struggle faced by many local businesses as a result of the COVID-19 restrictions, especially in coastal resorts, and the need for an online resource platform became clear.

After successfully receiving a RHSSF funding agreement in 2020 (now rebranded as the Welcome Back Fund), Hartlepool Borough Council allocated part of the funds to a marketing campaign to support local businesses, creating the Shop Hartlepool campaign.

Now Love Hartlepool are delighted to share Shop Hartlepool, a leading platform to showcase Hartlepool businesses of all shapes and sizes. Love Hartlepool’s dedicated volunteers have not only shared their retail expertise but have also, as representatives of the business community in Hartlepool, helped to shape the platform and the campaign.

COVID has hit businesses hard and we want to help local retailers get back on their feet. Our goal is for Shop Hartlepool to become a hub for customers to search for information on their favourite stores, as well as providing a promotional platform both online and on social media where we can shout about our fantastic local businesses and encourage safe shopping in our town.
